"Seagoing Career Pathway"

The New Era Academy's "Seagoing Career Pathway" is an exciting, 4-semester elective career program that offers its pathway students many unique opportunities.

Seagoing Pathway students are eligible for transportation industry related credentials that allow them to seek employment throughout the city, county, region and world with many Maritime and Transportation related industry companies.

The Seagoing Pathway elective courses includes:

  1. Introduction to ITDL -       Intermodal Transportation, Distribution & Logistics.
  2. Introduction to Deck -      Seagoing Deck Operations.
  3. Introduction to Steward - Seagoing Steward Operations.
  4. Introduction to Engine -   Seagoing Engineering Operations.

The Seagoing career pathway offers our students many field trips, company visits and actual "At-Sea Expeditions" when they maintain their academic eligibility and participation standards of the pathway. Our Seagoing Pathway completers earn both a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) and the U. S. Merchant Marine Credential (MMC).

All Maritime, Airline, Trucking, Warehouse and Intermodal Logistics companies seek out and hire new employees with a well-rounded understanding of Maritime, ITDL and Supply Chain Management principles and systems.
